Therefore, as a resident of Munich you can enjoy some of the best drinking water in Europe. Also M-Wasser is not only of high quality, in addition it comes at a better price than the drinking water in other German cities, as well. Its outstanding quality M-Wasser owes mainly to its origins. It comes directly to Munich from the Lower Alps, fresh and clean without any additives. Already in 1992 we introduced a further measure to protect water supplies, which has since become a model for the whole of Germany: systematic support for organic farming.Images

As commissioned by the Munich municipal waste water works, the SWM also collect waste water charges. These charges are collected free of any extra charge and transferred to the Munich City Council.

All laboratory results lie considerably below the legal limits. As a result M-Wasser is highly suitable for the preparation of baby food. In addition, containing essential minerals it is a refreshing part of a healthy adult diet, as well.laboratory results for drinking water

hardness of water
Your Munich water from the Lower Alps is natural, pure and fresh. The hardness of water lies between 13.3 and 18.3 degrees on the German scale (dH). With an average value of 15.8° dH it is to be assigned to hardness grade 3 according to the Law on Detergents. For normal and lightly soiled laundry we recommend a use of detergent according to hardness grade 2. By doing so, you protect the environment and save money. The use of detergent according to hardness grade 3 is only rational for heavily soiled laundry.
M-Wasser exhibits so-called calcium-carbonate-equilibrium. On metallic pipe materials it forms an anti-corrosive protective layer. For you this means that no water treatment (softening with ion exchanger, addition of phosphates or silicates or the like) is necessary for domestic needs. No calcification of note occurs below 60 degrees.

drinking water checks
The SWM drinking water checks are mainly offered to reveal undesirable contamination of the in-house distribution pipe systems by heavy metals, phosphates or silicates. In addition we also offer tests to determine the overall hardness of water. Based on the information given by you we can evaluate the laboratory analysis results. In addition you will receive recommendations on how to solve possible problems. However we can only give you information on standardized tests. Of course we also offer specific services suited to your individual requirements.
