The aim is to provide a connection for as many Munich residents as possible. SWM is investing over €200 million in this unprecedented expansion initiative to supply the west of Munich and southern and eastern parts of the city with environmentally friendly district heating. SWM will lay over 100 kilometers of new district heating pipeline as part of the program. Over the next ten years SWM anticipates a new connected load of hundreds of megawatts.
